T'boli style

Created this necklace after seeing some pics of garments worn by the T'boli people in South Mindanao.

Created an elegant necklace

Used four colours in this necklace to show a spiral pattern. This is not a spiral stitch! The beads have been placed to give the appearance of a spiral.

Mexican Inspired Necklace

Decided to make a necklace after seeing some Mexican designs. I came up with my own using 6 different bead colours.

Peyote 2 to prove it not a fluke.

Well I had just finished my first peyote necklace and I was already designing the next one in my head. This is based on the Arizona Coralsnake but I used burgundy colour beads instead of red. Done in Czech seed beads 11/0 in burgundy, white and jet black.

Peyote necklace

I have tried peyote before but never had to much success. A friend said it was due to not enough memory in the beading thread, so just a bit to limp for the job. I used fishiing braid here in 10lb 0.14mm diameter. It is equivalent to Kaygee fine. Anyway it took forever but happy with the result. It goes to show you can use Czech seed beads in 11/0 to do peyote stitch as well.

I have a model!

It is great to see someone wearing something you made. Even nicer when it looks great on them. This is my very good friend Connie wearing a necklace I made.

Connie put in a request for a necklace of pink, grey and red. I tried to make in Czech seeds beads but those colours just didn't work with the range available.  I ended up using Chinese seed beads which have nice colours but aren't very uniform in size. The grey bead is hematite which looks dark grey and has shine, the red and pink beads are opaque. The whole length of necklace was picking and choosing right shaped beads. This process probably doubled the time it takes to make a standard necklace. The result was worth all the effort and my friend has a nice necklace to show off.

It also seems Hong Kong has a graffiti vandal with the tag of Skunk! I hope the police find and take him on a harbour cruise dragging him by his toes!

Tibetan Curlique Clasp with 4 Bead Colours

New design was hard work with 4 colours. The usual Czech beads in size 11/0. Colours are a matte ruby red, matte brown, matte light topaz and rootbeer for flash. Incorporated a Tibetan Curlique Clasp which gives a nice finish.

A special thanks goes out to Norma of Amron Beads for her secret stash of seed beads. Those interested can see her website http://www.amronjewels.com.au/ and her blog http://amronjewels.blogspot.com/ she has great supplies and special custom made jewellery.

Two by Two

This is a variation on the diamond back pattern I did earlier. Has worked out into a nice piece. More 11/0 Czech seed beads in Jet Matte Black, Rootbeer and Light Topaz. Will attempt another with a similar style soon but incorporate a Dark Topaz which is a dark brown.

Middle Eastern style Arrives

Produced this pattern. Used Czech seed beads mainly frosted yellow , with a matte finished ruby red and rootbeer a silver lined bead for some glitz.

The colours remind me of the middle eastern costumes worn. Imagine a bra in that oo-la-la haha.

4 coloured offering

Well I finally picked up the needle again and this is what I created. It consists of Czech seeds beads size 11/0. There is 4 colours those being red, purple, maroon and blue. The blue was a string and had a vast difference in shades. I bought the string from Gypsy Beads in Angove St North Perth which has closed down now.

Inspired from an email

Last year my good friend Mary in the USA sent me an email. It was of a diamond back python a guy had killed after it attacked him. I loved the pattern on the snake so much I made a necklace with a similar pattern. So happy with the result.

On a personal note I want to congratulate Mary and Reuben on their marriage on Valentines Day 2011. I can only wish they don't wear out to many mattresses.

My Newest Necklace

Wow I made another necklace and I wear it all the time. I am quiet happy with the results. I hope everyone likes it too.

The Macel Style Necklace

This is a black choker I made it is similar to one I sent to Macel. Very stylish and very beautiful just like Macel.
